Privacy Policy

The short version

SmartSDR AF does not collect, store, or sell your personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking of who you are. The only information that ever leaves your device is anonymous diagnostic and usage data used to find and fix problems.

What the app stores on your device

The app keeps your settings — radio connection details, display preferences, and (if you use SmartLink) the login token issued by FlexRadio's authentication service — locally on your device. This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and is removed when you uninstall the app.

When you sign in to SmartLink, authentication happens directly between your device and FlexRadio's login service (Auth0). Your FlexRadio account credentials are never sent to us and we never see them.

Audio and microphone

Receive audio streams directly from your radio to your device and is played, not recorded or stored. The app requests microphone permission to support transmit functionality; microphone audio is only ever sent to your own radio and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to us or anyone else.

Diagnostics and analytics

To troubleshoot problems and understand how the app performs, we collect anonymous, aggregated diagnostic data: crash reports, error logs, and coarse usage statistics (for example, which features are used and on what Android version). This data does not identify you, does not include your callsign, audio, frequencies, or radio traffic, and is used only to improve the app.

This website uses Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service that reports anonymous, aggregated page-view statistics. It does not use cookies and does not track you across sites.

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for marketing or advertising, and we never will.

Payments

SmartSDR AF is sold as a one-time purchase through Google Play. Your payment is processed entirely by Google; we never receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or other payment information. Google's handling of that data is covered by Google's own privacy policy.

Children

SmartSDR AF is a tool for licensed amateur radio operators and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future feature requires collecting something new — we will update this page and change the effective date below. Material changes will be called out in the app's release notes.
